Margaret Randall, of Albuquerque, is an internationally acclaimed socialist feminist writer, photographer and activist, who currently works to bridge worlds and explore women’s and cultural issues. Randall grew up in New Mexico and New York before spending twenty-three years in Mexico, Cuba, and Nicaragua. In Mexico she co-founded El corno emplumado/The Plumed Horn, a bilingual literary journal of the 1960s. She returned to the U.S. in 1984, only to face an attempt to deport her based on her political views. After a five-year battle she won her case in 1989. Randall has published more than a hundred books and is a popular speaker who has been invited to read and lecture around the world.
